Field-Testing:

INTER-AM is adept at field-testing interventions, programs and products with Spanish-speaking groups.
INTER-AM helps design and conduct individual and group interviews. Our experienced facilitators obtain reliable data from different samples of the Hispanic community. The collection of information is always done in Spanish by trained facilitators who understand Latino customs, traditions and communication barriers. We can coordinate activities with Hispanic families (adults and/or children) of all nationalities, from urban and rural settings, as well as from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. We follow rigorous procedures and encourage peer review for careful analysis.
We analyze health information messages in the context of culture and health beliefs. Qualitative evaluation methods are used to obtain testimonials that are unique for each project. Materials are tested for comprehension and information recall.
Example of recent projects:
Conducted separate focus groups for Latino men and women for a county health department regarding eating habits, physical activity and diabetes.
Conducted focus groups with Latino teenagers for an educational institution, regarding attitudes and behaviors towards public schools and their rural/urban neighborhoods.
Conducted phone interviews with Latino families for a national health organization, regarding barriers to their receiving health care.
Conducted a survey in low-income neighborhoods for a non-profit organization, regarding Latino parents' eating habits and their perceptions of overweight. We can assist you with:
